Qatar...

A short flight across the gulf peninsula from Oman to the sultan of Qatar. Straight away we can see how western Qatar is: massive freeways, Hong Kong style skyscrapers, shopping malls and lots and lots of cars. Obviously they struck some serious oil here!



We spent the day walking around the back streets, the winding alleys of the souqs (markets of all produce and goods) and along the beautiful harbour board walks.



Dinner was an usual crepe like thing made by a local lady on the sidewalk. It was delicious and true to form I went back for seconds and then ate half of Narelle's. A cheap meal at $2 for both of us.
